Plasma Factor(s) in ME/CFS: Are they specific for this illness?

Summary so far: We have preliminary evidence of the presence of an unidentified factor in the blood capable of altering cellular energetics however showed inconsistencies between two ME/CFS cohorts and between different muscle cell models.


An ME Association grant is currently funding more research in this area.


% iO2  (intracellular oxygen) is a marker of mitochondrial activity. The lower the level of iO2, the higher the level of mitochondrial oxygen consumption.
